An Evening of Ghostly Intimations

Featuring a screening of Zoe Beloff’sShadowland, a 3D film based on the 1897 autobiography of Elizabeth D’Esperance, a medium who could produce full body apparitions; stories of Haunted Houses by Corinne May Botz in photographs and recorded oral histories collected from homes across the U.S.; and a discussion of Stiffs, Skulls & Skeletons: Medical Photography and Symbolism by Dr. Stanley Burns of The Burns Archive. Hosted by Paul Moakley, the museums caretaker and curator, who will tell the Alice Austen House ghost stories dating back to the Revolutionary War. Refreshments included. Shows begin at 6:00pm and 8pm sharp.
