Polaroid Photowalk & Emulsion Transfer Workshop
Join us for the first walk of our Monthly Photowalk Series. For our July walk, BYOP (bring your own Polaroid) or rent one from us as we work within the limitations of film in an age where the ability to take thousands of digital photographs is readily available at our fingertips.
We’ll start at the Victorian Gothic cottage that was both Alice Austen’s home and muse. From there, we will wander along Buono Beach and through the streets of Rosebank to Von Briesen Park where we’ll explore the park’s tree dotted hills and spectacular river views. The walk will culminate back on the lawn of the cottage for a Polaroid Transfer Workshop, working with photographs taken along our walk.
Polaroid cameras and film packs will be available for rent and purchase for those who don’t bring their own.
*Due to limited camera supply, registration is required to guarantee a camera rental, otherwise rentals will be first come, first served
*Fuji Instax cameras also welcome, however the photos from these cameras will not work with emulsion transfers.
11am: Depart from the Alice Austen House.
Route will follow along the waterfront at Buono Beach, up Clifton Ave, down Bay Street to Von Briesen Park and then loop back to the house.
1pm: Polaroid Transfer Workshop at the House
