August’s photowalk will be a saunter through quaint neighborhood streets, ending at a tucked away pond. Did you know Staten Island is the borough with the most ponds? It is also the borough with the last remaining freshwater pond suitable for swimming, Brady’s Pond. While most of the pond is private, we will be exploring the northeast corner of the pond, Brady’s Pond Park.
Before we depart, join us on the house patio and meet your fellow photographers for coffee (or tea) and a photobook share. Bring a favorite photobook as inspiration. Drip coffee and tea will be provided.
Though we’ll be heading out early to avoid the afternoon heat, don’t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle as well as long socks or pants for walking through the wooded areas of the park.
Round trip from the house to the pond and back is two miles. There is also ample street parking and multiple bus stops for those wishing to catch up at the pond.
We have Polaroid cameras to rent and film for sale for anyone who doesn’t bring their own camera.
Rent a Polaroid camera:
$20 for 1 pack of color i-Type Polaroids (8 photos), includes camera rental
$30 for 2 packs of color i-Type Polaroids (16 photos), includes camera rental
