The Alice Austen House is excited to be hosting their annual Dancing with the Staten Island Stars Gala on June 15th, 2013.  Each year, Alice Austen House choses local celebrities to collaborate with professional dancers, M & J Ballroom, and this year the community was asked to nominate local celebrities!  The local stars and professional dancers team up to engage in a light-hearted dance off, (though nobody will be voted off.) Instead, the elegant affair aims to reward everyone by bringing guests together to bond over great music, catered food, cocktails and a passion for the arts.  This year's list of accomplished Staten Island Stars are:

Joe Causi- Radio Personality, WCBS-FM- New York's Greatest Hits

Angelina DePompo-Seff- Owner of Angie DePompo Court Reporting Service

Vincent Ferrara- Corporate Director at DeSimone Consulting Engineers

Master Kim- Owner of Dragon Kim's Karate USA

Edwina Frances Martin- Legislative and Budget Director at NYC Council

Gracelyn Santos- Family and Cosmetic Dentist at Santos & Mroczek DDS, PC and Columnist, "Gracelyn's Chronicles," Staten Island Advance

Through ballroom dance, Dancing with the Staten Island Stars has maintained a tradition of celebrating some of Staten Island’s most charitable philanthropists, business executives, journalists and TV personalities. Dancers are accomplished in their respected fields.  The occasion celebrates the success and altruism of Staten Island’s most outstanding residents. It is a gathering which draws lovers of Alice Austen, those who are dedicated to furthering the museum’s mission.
